Ökoprofit FrankfurtRheinMain
A beginners programme for environmental management
Ökoprofit (Ecological Project for Integrated Environmental Technology) is a programme that supports municipalities and companies over the course of one year in getting started with corporate environmental management. The aim is to implement environmental measures that optimize energy, waste and resources management, thereby reducing the operating costs in buildings.
The programme is offered by the Energy Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main and the Regional Authority FrankfurtRheinMain. It is part of the Frankfurt Master Plan 100 % Climate Protection and the Regional Energy Concept FrankfurtRheinMain.
What does Ökoprofit offer?
Ökoprofit is a simple first step towards dealing with the topic of environmental management without having to invest a lot of money. The programme provides support on topics such as:
- Energy efficiency
- Waste management and prevention
- Water savings
- Power and fuel consumption
- Mobility
The programme focuses on one building, which is analyzed on site by experts. After intensive guiding through workshops, the municipalities and companies improve the building(s) themselves. Support is also available for energy audits, time and budget planning and for questions regarding legal requirements, such as the EU Energy Efficiency Directive.
Following the base year, municipalities and companies can join the "Ökoprofit Club". Here they can network, exchange information and stay informed.
Successful completion of the entry-level round also lays the foundations for the introduction of a certified environmental management system in accordance with Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) or ISO 14001.
